Support in applying

If you need this job description in another format, or other support in applying, please email talent@madetech.com.

We believe we can use tech to make public services better. We also believe this can happen best when our own team represents the society that actually uses the services we work on. We’re collectively continuing to grow a culture that is happy, healthy, safe and inspiring for people of all backgrounds and experiences, so we encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply for roles with us.

When you apply, we’ll put you in touch with a talent partner who can help with any needs or adjustments we may need to make to help with your application. This includes alternative formats for documents, the time allotted for interviews and any other needs. We also welcome any feedback on how we can improve the experience for future candidates.

About Made Tech

Made Tech is on a mission to use technology to improve society - for everyone. We help public sector organisations transform, deliver and manage world-class digital products and cloud services. We work with the UK government to modernise legacy technology and shape the digital future of the country. We support local government teams in building accessible services that make a real difference to people. And we help the NHS use technology to improve and save lives.

Made Tech has grown quickly, and has bold ambitions for the future. We know that growth and change can be unsettling (as well as exciting), so we are looking for people who enjoy this challenge, and want to help others thrive too.

A key role in our Business Operations team, with responsibility for high quality execution and continuous improvement in a range of critical business processes and data sets, including: accurate weekly timesheet data; the smooth running of our offices; support for sales operations; management of contractors in our business and more.

Period Management

  • Run and improve our weekly timesheet process - ‘Close’ each week and month efficiently, ensuring we have timesheets and approvals delivered on time and with high accuracy to support client invoicing
  • Own all other aspects of our weekly and monthly ‘period management’ processes; working with the commercial, delivery and scheduling teams to ensure we’ve accurately represented all revenue and cost flowing through our business

Salesforce, Kimble and Sales Operations

  • Drive data quality and support process and configuration improvements in our key business systems - from user management to ensuring we have high quality data on bid activity and sales opportunities.

  • Keep our offices running smoothly; including a regular (min. 2 days a week) presence at our London site, regular support and attendance for our teams on days of client events; and day to day liaison with contacts at our other serviced offices. Travel to our other office locations may be needed occasionally (approx. once per quarter) too.
  • Manage suppliers, maintain stock levels and ensure that our office is set up to enable productive hybrid working for all our teams
  • Engage with the wider Made Tech team to ensure office facilities and processes meet needs and support increasing use of our sites in line with our hybrid working policies

Support and run other operational activity

  • Support Operations Managers with high quality execution across a range of other business processes: including onboarding and management of contractors; and support for compliance activities around asset management and internal audits.
  • Act as a triage point for inbound operational questions: helping answer questions, solve problems and forward/escalate to other members of the team as needed

  • You have some experience in an operational role (ideally in a professional services environment) - experience with timesheets is a plus but non essential
  • You take pride in your attention to detail - nothing gets past you!
  • You love the feeling of getting things done: you’re a completer/finisher who knows how to close things off and has a constant drive to deliver the right outcome for the organisation
  • You know how to keep a lot of plates spinning - this role involves managing a wide set of organisational processes: you’ll need to be keeping an eye on your to do list, reprioritising and escalating for support and input when needed
  • You love working with people - you’ll interact with a lot of different roles around our organisation: you’re confident and professional in front of senior stakeholders; and able to build relationships and influence both within the Operations team and the wider business
  • You like improving processes: you’re an analytical thinker who thinks about how to measure the success of the processes you run, and how to make practical improvements to make them more efficient or deliver even better outcomes
