Safer Recruitment Policy
At Made Tech, we are dedicated to building a diverse and inclusive workforce. We are committed to promoting equality, respecting differences, and ensuring fair access and treatment for all candidates throughout the entire recruitment process.
To ensure that all applicants are treated equitably and to maintain the highest standards of integrity and security for our clients and company, we have a clear, consistent, and transparent recruitment process that both hiring managers and applicants follow.
Our Roles
All new roles are defined, evaluated, and approved before being advertised. Every job advert includes a comprehensive and clear job description detailing responsibilities, required skills, and expected behaviours.
Conditional Offers and Pre-Employment Checks
Offers of employment are conditional upon the satisfactory completion of specific pre-employment checks, which will include:
- Verification of the Right to Work in the UK.
- Satisfactory standard background checks, including identity, address, and unspent criminal convictions relevant to the role (usually covered by BPSS process).
- For client facing roles, enhanced security checks (such as SC or less frequently DV clearance) will be required.
- In some cases satisfactory professional references will be requested (usually two).
Employees are required to complete all essential pre-employment checks and have their contract finalised before they can officially commence work. Work can be commenced whilst security clearance (SC) is in application status; however, security clearance must be achieved before an individual’s probation period can be successfully signed off. In the absence of a successful SC application, a decision may be made to terminate employment if the offer of employment advises SC as a condition of employment.
Diversity Monitoring
Diversity monitoring information is requested at the application and onboarding stages. Candidates and employees are not required to share this information, and it is not used as part of the selection or hiring decision process, but it is incredibly useful to help understand our hiring profile and helps to influence initiatives and hiring focuses to drive diversity.
Any confidential information provided will be stored securely and used (anonymously) solely for aggregate diversity monitoring purposes to help us analyse and improve our equality and inclusion initiatives, in line with our Data Privacy commitments.
Integrity and Suitability
Made Tech is committed to upholding the highest standards of professional integrity, information security, and ethical conduct in all our work. We expect all employees to share this commitment and adhere to our company values.
The suitability of all prospective employees against these core commitments is assessed throughout the recruitment process. All employees receive mandatory training on company policies, security, and professional conduct upon joining, as well as a comprehensive business and local team onboarding.
